Hello, my name is Susan Potts owner of Spotts Grooming Parlor.

For as long as I can remember, I have been around animals. My family had a small farm with chickens, goats, horses, rabbits, cats and of course a dog or two. When I was young I would play dress up with my dogs; I would put clothes on them and fix up their hair. Growing up in a family that loved pets of all kinds, I knew at a young age that I would most likely have a career in the animal industry.

I have been grooming both dogs and cats since 1992.  I started out as a bather with the intent of becoming a professional groomer. I worked along side some very skillful people that trained me in the basics of grooming, but most of my skill comes from studying books written by top professionals and attending grooming seminars to keep up on all the latest trends and techniques. Just knowing what looks good is also a big part of being a professional groomer.  My clients trust my judgment in styling their pets.

In July of 2002, I opened my own grooming salon with the help of my husband Jim. Together, we turned a dull and lifeless attached garage into the quaintest little grooming parlor. Grooming peoples pets is both a pleasure and a passion and  I have been very blessed to have been given this talent.

We have two Standard Poodles, Pippin is my "white shadow" is in all my ads and is the white poodle on my blog.  Pip has been clipped in many different poodle styles and has even sported some bright hair colors.  He has his CGC and has finished in AKC standard agility beginners.  Bosco is my black poodle. He too has been trimmed in many styles and unlike Pippin, does not like to run agility, but would rather just sit back watch.  He comes from a long line of therapy dogs.

I have also studied dog diet and nutrition. Proper diet not only is important to us but for our pet's as well.  After months of research I discovered Flint River Ranch foods and treats. Pets are just like family members. Their welfare is important. However, they cannot take care of themselves. They depend on us for food, shelter, medical attention and affection. They give us so much love and in return it is our responsibility to give back to them.
